By signing up and participating, you agree to the following terms and commit to being part of something real and human.

These terms govern your use of the Local Growth platform and related services (the "Service"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these terms.

Definitions & Scope

• Service: the Local Growth online platform, websites, and related features.
• Account: your registered profile used to access the Service.
• Community: a group, page, or space created and/or administered by users or organisers.
• Organiser: a user or entity that creates communities or hosts events.
• Member: a user who joins communities or participates in events.
• Consumer: a natural person acting outside the scope of business or profession under applicable EU/CZ law.

The Service may include features that enable discovery of local communities, event participation, and communication. Additional terms may apply to specific features or paid services.

Who Can Join

Communities is open to individuals who:

• Provide accurate information when signing up
• Respect the community and engage with good intentions
• Are committed to fostering real, meaningful connections

We reserve the right to deny or remove access to anyone who violates these terms or disrupts the community experience.

Accounts & Security

• You must provide accurate information and keep your Account secure.
• Do not share your login credentials or allow others to access your Account.
• We may suspend or terminate Accounts that violate these terms or applicable laws.
• If you are under 18, you represent that you have consent from a parent or legal guardian. The Service is not intended for children under 16.

How Communities Works

Our platform is designed to connect you with local communities and like-minded individuals in your area:

Communities is not a dating app or a business networking service. We provide opportunities for real human connection, and what happens next is up to you.

Community Guidelines

Communities is built on trust and respect. By participating, you agree to:

• Be Present: Engage with an open mind and a willingness to connect authentically
• Respect Others: Treat everyone with kindness, consideration, and dignity
• Prioritise Safety: Harassment, discrimination, or inappropriate behaviour will not be tolerated
• Foster Community: Contribute positively to the communities you join
• Be Authentic: Be yourself and encourage others to do the same

Any violation of these principles may result in removal from the platform.

Privacy & Data Usage

Your information is used solely to enhance your community experience:

• We use your data to connect you with relevant communities and events
• We do not sell your data to third parties
• Community feedback helps us improve future experiences but remains confidential
• You may request account deletion and data removal at any time

Event Costs & Payments

While Communities is a free platform, there are paid features and services available:

Refund Policy

• All our services have a 14-day refund policy. This means that you can request a refund within 14 days of purchasing a subscription.
• Refunds for community-hosted events are handled directly by the individual communities we have no impact over them. Each community sets their own refund policy and terms for their events. Communities (the platform) does not process payments or guarantee refunds for community-hosted events. Please check with the event organizer about their specific refund policy before purchasing

Consumer Rights & Withdrawal (EU/CZ)

• If you are a Consumer, you may have a 14-day right to withdraw from distance contracts.
• Exceptions apply, including: (a) leisure services for a specific date/time (e.g., event tickets), and (b) digital content not supplied on a tangible medium once delivery has begun with your prior consent.
• Where Local Growth is not the seller (marketplace scenario), your contract is with the organiser and their terms govern withdrawals and refunds.

Life is unpredictable, and we understand that. We're human too, and we'll work with you when genuine emergencies arise.

Limitation of Liability

While Communities creates opportunities for connection, we are not responsible for:

• The actions, behaviours, or interactions of community members
• Any personal or financial loss during events
• Last-minute changes due to unforeseen circumstances beyond our control

However, if there's any misconduct, harm, or serious violation of our community values, we will take action—including legal steps if necessary.

By participating, you acknowledge that you do so at your own risk but also with the trust that Communities is built to keep things meaningful, safe, and human.

Platform Role, User Content & IP

Communities may act as a platform that enables organisers and members to find and interact with each other. Unless expressly stated, Local Growth is not a party to contracts between organisers and members and does not control or endorse user content.

• You retain ownership of content you post. By posting, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, display, and distribute such content solely to operate the Service.
• Do not upload content that infringes third-party rights, is unlawful, harassing, hateful, or otherwise violates these terms.
• We may remove or disable content that we reasonably believe violates these terms or the law.

Acceptable Use

• Do not attempt to reverse engineer, scrape, or overburden the Service.
• Do not use the Service for illegal activities, including discrimination, harassment, or fraud.
• Respect privacy and obtain consent where required before sharing others' personal data.

Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service with notice where feasible if you breach these terms or if required for legal or security reasons. You may stop using the Service at any time. Certain provisions survive termination, including intellectual property, limitations of liability, and dispute resolution.

Miscellaneous

• If any provision is invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in effect.
• You may not transfer your rights or obligations under these terms without our prior consent. We may assign our rights and obligations in connection with a merger, acquisition, or asset sale.
• If these terms are provided in multiple languages, the English version controls in case of conflicts, without affecting mandatory consumer protections in your jurisdiction.

Governing Law & Dispute Resolution

These terms are governed by the laws of the Czech Republic. If you are a Consumer residing in the EU, you also enjoy the protection of mandatory provisions of your country of residence.

If we cannot resolve a dispute amicably, Consumers may seek out-of-court dispute resolution via the Czech Trade Inspection Authority (Česká obchodní inspekce, www.coi.cz) or use the European Commission's Online Dispute Resolution platform at ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr.

Updates to These Terms

As Communities evolves, so may these terms. If we make significant changes, we'll notify users via email or through platform notifications. Continued participation after updates implies acceptance of the revised terms.
